№ 04 — Advice Process

A clear path from first call to lifelong support.

Six considered stages — from a free introduction call through to annual reviews. You're in control at every step.

01

Getting to know you

A free initial 15-minute phone or video call to understand who we are, what we do, and your current position, goals and concerns. We'll discuss the types of advice you might benefit from, costs involved, and whether formal advice will help.

Fact Find Meeting

A detailed conversation about your financial position — super, assets, investments, liabilities, income, expenses, estate matters, risk profile, insurance needs. You'll receive a report on your current position plus a Letter of Engagement with proposed advice areas and fees.

This meeting is charged at $550 incl. GST. The cost is deducted from any formal advice fees if you proceed with an advice package.

02

Engagement

Once you and your Adviser have agreed on the areas of advice you need, you sign the Letter of Engagement. Your Adviser then arranges a Strategy Meeting to discuss preferences, prioritise goals, dig into insurance needs and ensure the advice meets your objectives.

03

Research & Strategy

Your Adviser works through the formal research process — analysing your existing products, cash flow, risk position, and insurance needs. They model your current position and compare alternatives to ensure the most beneficial and appropriate advice is provided. We'll consult with your Accountant or Solicitor as needed.

04

Advice Creation & Presentation

Our Paraplanners prepare your formal Statement of Advice — recommendations, reasons, benefits, risks, alternatives and costs. Your Adviser walks you through the advice, adjusts as needed, and sends documents for electronic sign-off. The process typically takes 2–4 weeks.

05

Implementation

We prepare paperwork and applications and send them for your review and sign-off. Our team coordinates with insurance underwriters, super funds, investment providers, and other specialists — keeping you updated throughout. Implementation typically takes 4–6 weeks.

06

Annual Planning & Review

This is by far the most important stage.

If you ask us how to get from the east coast of Australia to the west, we can draw you a map. That's your initial Statement of Advice. The Annual Planning & Review is the support driver who helps you navigate flooded roads, find shortcuts, and change a flat tyre.

Depending on complexity, this may include annual, quarterly or monthly reviews — plus ongoing monitoring of your position and investments. Your Adviser regularly reviews your super, investments, insurances and annual tax returns. We let you know about legislative changes, identify new opportunities, and flag any new gaps or risks.

At least once a year, your Adviser sits with you (online, phone or in-person) for a full personal and financial review.

FAQ

Process questions, answered.

The initial meeting is online — by phone or video — so it fits around your day. Formal advice meetings can be held via Microsoft Teams (our preference, to reduce travel for everyone), or at our offices in Beaudesert or Tamborine Mountain.
Our Annual Planning & Review service is based on 12-month ongoing agreements that can be cancelled at any time. If you cancel mid-period we may invoice for advice or services already provided to the termination date.
Annual planning is vital to ensure your advice stays aligned with current legislation. Our pricing assumes a multi-year relationship — but if you have a single area you'd like to discuss, we can arrange a one-off advice fee quote.
Fees paid from superannuation are tax deductible to the super fund. Initial advice fees may be tax deductible depending on the areas of advice. Ongoing fees relating to investments outside super may also be deductible — we'll work with your Accountant if needed.
